Building a Wiki/News site

Blog Plugin (with Include Plugin and Pagelist Plugin as dependencies)
- What it does: Turns any DokuWiki namespace into a reverse-chronological news feed. It automatically sorts posts by creation date, generates “Read More” cutoffs, handles pagination, and provides a front-end form to write new news articles directly.
Archive Plugin (often bundled or paired with the Blog Plugin)
- What it does: Generates sidebar chronological archives (by month/year) so visitors can browse past news issues.

Indexmenu Plugin
- What it does: Provides a dynamic, collapsible tree-view menu of your wiki pages. Perfect for a sidebar so users can easily navigate deeply nested documentation categories.
Tag Plugin
- What it does: Allows you to tag wiki pages (and news posts) with keywords, generating tag clouds and cross-referencing related content across your site.
Move Plugin
- What it does: Crucial for a wiki. It lets you rename, move, or restructure wiki pages and entire folder trees without breaking internal links.

Discussion Plugin
- What it does: Adds structured user comment threads to the bottom of wiki pages or news posts. It supports threaded replies (nested conversations), subscriber email notifications, and basic on-page moderation (deleting spam comments, editing).
- Note: If you want a more Wikipedia-style “talk page” format instead of blog-style comments attached to articles, you can use the lightweight Talkpage Plugin instead.

Wrap Plugin
- What it does: Allows you to style sections of your text into custom layout boxes, columns, alerts, or notices, which helps give a DokuWiki site a modern “portal” look rather than a plain text document look.
A Responsive Template: DokuWiki's default template is clean, but for a news/wiki hybrid, you'll want to install a responsive template designed for portals (such as the Sprint, Bootstrap3, or Minima templates) via the Extension Manager to ensure it looks great on mobile devices.
